It's kind of cushiony and somewhat plastic like but comfortable. It absorbs no water, does not fade and looks beautiful.I bought this to replace a much more expensive outdoor rug which is impossible to clean. At a fraction of the cost, this is an attractive, sturdy rug which is cleananble. We sweep it off and fold it up and put it in our camper and use it over and over and over again. The colors are gray and white and we love the soft look it gives our camping set up.This is a nice outdoor rug. Durable, holds up after each use. It's also great for the beach, just roll it up and take it with you. Great Purchase. So happy with this rug. I am glad I bought it and my whole family thinks it's great.
